The Old School

August 4, 2020

I love it when people I know in real life get married. It’s such a treat to get to glam up your friends on their wedding day. I have known Meaghan since 2015 and was so happy to hear the news that she had gotten engaged to her love, Amanda. Amanda and Meaghan are such a beautiful and fun couple. They had the band sing a slowed-down version of Fetty Wap’s Trap Queen as their first dance song. Y’all, these are my people!

Amanda’s mom’s long time friends brought in snacks and mimosas for the morning. I ate some apple cinnamon pastry thing that was very delicious and very very dangerous. It is probably for the best that I don’t know where they got it from. They all told stories of their karaoke night out at The Lipstick Lounge and exploring downtown Nashville. Every mom of the bride needs a girl gang to spoil her kid on their wedding day. It just doesn’t get any better than having a group of women around to tell you all how beautiful you look while shoveling cream cheese danish into your hand. Also, The Old School has a pool table so that’s fun!

Here are some getting ready photos.

Here are some detail shots. Their hashtag was so clever! #okmandynowletsgetinfordmation

Meaghan’s last name is Ford, and duh, Amanda/Mandy. So cute!

Our dear mutual friend Melissa Greene officiated the wedding. Mel could talk about the creation of mulch and make it move your soul. She is powerful but gentle, kind but firm, knowledgeable and eloquent. She loves love and loves her people just as much. If you are needing an officiant for your wedding I HIGHLY recommend Melissa.

The two brides didn’t want to have similar hair and makeup styles for their wedding and they didn’t know what the other was wearing or planning for hair and makeup so that was tricky but we totally pulled it off. Meaghan went with a soft glam look focusing on a red lip and strong lashes. She chose a down hairstyle with soft curls and one side tucked behind her ear.

Amanda opted for an updo that was soft and feminine but structured so she could dance all night and not worry about any loose pieces. Amanda doesn’t wear much makeup if any on a normal basis so we kept her makeup very natural highlighting her gorgeous skin, bone structure, and eyes. They both looked elegant, beautiful, completely different, and felt like themselves.

I absolutely love this shot! Cheers!
